Isn’t it hard to make changes, even when we know that they’re good for us? How many times have you made a decision to get more active, eat better, and handle your stress in healthier ways? Before you knew what happened, did you go back to your old habits?
I know! I’ve done the same thing many times myself. Isn’t it frustrating? What I’ve finally come to understand — at least up to a point — is that there’s going to be a time when it’s too late to make those proactive choices. Right now, while we’re still healthy, we can choose to do the things we need to do, in order to maintain our health. If we don’t, one day it will be too late. There will be too much damage already done.
What if you knew that a month from now you were going to develop a serious, chronic health condition, unless you started getting more exercise, eating nutritious food, and handling stress better? Wouldn’t you get serious about making those changes? Why wait? Do it for yourself and for everyone that cares about you. Do it now! It takes time to develop a new habit. Start small, with one little change in your daily routine. Next week, choose another small change to add to the first. You don’t have to do it all at once, but keep making those small changes. They will all add up to a healthier, happier you!
Life is all about choice. Each choice we make has a consequence. Some consequences happen right away. Some take time to show up, but they all will eventually make an appearance. Which choices do you need to make, to lead to the outcomes you want? Make your choices healthy ones, before it’s too late!
Be well,
Linda
