“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was within me an invincible summer.”
Albert Camus

Even though it’s early December, certain areas of our country are already having cold weather, complete with snow and ice.  Life gets harder in winter.  It’s difficult sometimes to remember that spring and summer are just around the corner.  Underneath that frozen world, lying dormant, are all the treasures of nature just waiting to burst forth when the weather warms up.

Our emotions can be like that.  When you’re in the middle of a sorrow of some kind, it can be very hard to even hold a distant memory of what joy felt like — let alone hold a belief that you’ll ever be whole and happy again.  I think it’s important to remind ourselves, and each other, that we always have within us the seeds of our own well-being — a life force that may seem delicate, but in reality is quite resilient.

We all have sorrows from time to time.  When you’re feeling cold and numb, with a sadness of some kind, think about this quote, and remember that within you there is “an invincible summer” just waiting until the right time to blossom.

Until next time,

Linda
