I so often talk about the importance of taking time to really be in the moment. That’s just what I’m going to be doing as you read this week’s post. I’m writing it ahead, because tomorrow evening all three of our sons will be here at our house, and I can’t wait!
Our two oldest sons live in Portland, Oregon, and we don’t get to see them as often as we would like. It’s a celebration and a blessing when they’re able to be here! My oldest son’s wife can’t make this trip, but my oldest granddaughter will be coming with her dad. Our youngest son and his family (wife and three kids) will be coming up from their home a couple hours away from Santa Barbara.
After they all get here, I’m going to take off my therapist’s hat, and become Mom and Grandma! I love being around my family, and I want to be sure that I make the most of the time.
No matter what you do for a living, or how much you enjoy it, it’s important to step away from time to time, to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. When you return, you’ll be refreshed and ready to really focus on doing your best work.
I’m going to spend the next 10 days enjoying time off — talking, laughing, reading books to little ones, getting and giving lots of hugs, and just in general celebrating our love for each other. I’ll come back ready to jump into writing this blog, seeing clients, and all my normal busyness, but starting tomorrow evening, I’m going to slow down and enjoy being in the moment! I hope that you will all find big and little things to celebrate while I’m gone.
Until next time,
Linda
Getting to spend times with your kids and grandkids will rejuvenate and refresh you for when you have to get back to reality. I hope you are enjoying your well-deserved time off with your family, Linda!
Thank you, Lisa! I love my normal reality, but this is a very special time with my family!

Enjoy your family time! Nothing beats a full house with a week off to enjoy them all. Way to walk the talk!
Thank you, Calla! We’re having fun. My oldest son, and his 13 yr. old daughter are here from Portland, and our youngest son, his wife, and their 3 kids, aged 3, 4, and almost 9 are all here. It’s a “full house” for sure!!
