“Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope.”
by Tom Head

This is such a beautiful quote! I believe very much in the message it conveys. None of us know how long our life on earth will be, so let’s start right now using whatever time we have to spread love and hope to all who might need them. It doesn’t take great wealth or worldly power to make a difference in someone’s life. A gentle touch, a kind word, a soft smile can all convey a message of caring. Reaching out to others can give them the hope they might need in times of sorrow.

Think of a time when you were struggling. Didn’t it make a difference to know someone cared? When we give love and hope to others, we also bring blessings to ourselves, because it gives our lives meaning.

A friend and I got together yesterday for a cup of tea, and this very topic was something we discussed. We talked about how lonely people often are, and that sometimes a friendly hello in the grocery store might be the only human connection they have that day.

After that conversation, I thought about Eva, who I wrote about in my last entry. She shares her love for others so freely. It’s in everything she says and does. Right now, she is very ill, and it saddens me to think that she’s suffering. I’m holding faith that she will soon be healthy and back to loving and caring for others, in that special way of hers. When I ran into this quote today, I knew that I wanted to share it with all of you who were touched by my tale about the lost traveler and his connection with Eva. If you can hold some healing thoughts for her, and remember this kind and gentle person in your prayers, I will be very grateful.

Until next time,

Linda
